This is basmati rice which is steamed with a delicious crispy
Crust made out of saffron, butter & sunflower oil.
This rice is served with 80% of all persian foods.
The other 20% of foods which are made with rice, will also have the
Tahdig (Crispy crust).
There are so many different kinds of persian rice recipes, with
Chicken, lamb, vegetables etc.
But the concept is the same.... They all have Tahdig (Crispy crust)
At the bottom of the pot.
When they are ready to serve, they flip the rice into a serving platter
And the rice looks like a beautiful cake, with a crispy golden
Crust on the top.

NOTE****
The Tahdig (Crispy crust) has to be golden color and not burned.
That is why cooking this rice is a labor of love.

Ingredients:
2 1/2 Cups of Basmati Rice (Indian Rice)
1 tbs. Salt (Or to your own taste)
Enough water to boil the rice at first
For the Tahdig (The crispy crust on the bottom of the pot)
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup of boiling water
1/4 tsp. Saffron powder (Get saffron threads and grind to powder)
2 tbsp. Butter
4 tbsp. Sunflower oil
